Caras experience
providing physical therapy in a variety of settings
has made her a valuable addition to the clinic.
Since graduating from UBC in 2000, Cara has focused
on treating complex orthopedic and neurological
conditions, running injuries and peripheral joint
problems. Cara has a specific interest in neck,
thoracic spine and shoulder girdle problems that
require stability training and muscle balance work.
She is also interested in the rehabilitation of
clients post motor vehicle accident. Cara works
with patients in all stages of recovery from neurological
conditions to assist them to achieve optimal function.
Cara completed her
Intermediate Certificate in Manual and Manipulative
Physical Therapy in 2006, and completed the course
work for her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative
Therapy in 2008. She has also completed extensive
post graduate training pertaining to motor control
of the thoracic spine and the lumbopelvic hip complex.
In 2008 Cara was certified in Gunn Intramuscular
Stimulation, a dry needling technique that allows
release of tight bands in muscle. Cara is committed
to continuing education and continues to take courses
to improve her skills on an ongoing basis.
When not in the clinic,
Cara can be found playing Ultimate Frisbee or out
on the trails running or riding her bike. Cara is
a past chair of the board of directors of the Kamloops
Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and continues
to be involved as a volunteer with this organization.
