Lexis Rempel
Registered Massage Therapist
Lexis Rempel graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba (now re-named Evolve College of Massage Therapy) in 2007 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since graduating, Lexis has travelled from Manitoba to New Zealand to British Columbia, working in a variety of settings including physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathic clinics and spas. Lexis prefers being immersed in multidisciplinary clinics where a variety of therapists and practitioners can work together to optimize client care and to learn from each other. Their clinical focus has been varied, from treating sports, workplace and motor vehicle accident injuries, to addressing chronic pain due to disease and muscular and postural imbalance, as well as general health and wellness maintenance.
With the awareness that we live in the information age, Lex has a passion and curiosity for continuing education and development of skills and knowledge. They have pursued training in advanced myofascial release, Low Intensity Light Therapy and osteopathic techniques. Borrowing from spa experience, Lexis has integrated tools and practices that relate to client comfort, specifically heat application that have been shown to help with relaxation and easing of pain. Combining that with deep tissue therapy and joint mobilization, they strive to make treatment both effective and safe for clients with varying needs and tolerances. With a fascination of the social and psychological aspects of pain and dysfunction, Lexis has worked to gain a better understanding of chronic pain and learn how best to treat it.
Since moving to Kamloops in 2011, Lex has worked in a variety of fields while working towards their BC massage therapist registration. With this range of work environments, Lex has experience with a broad scope of people and welcomes diversity. In their free time, Lex enjoys food experimentation and Lego building with their wife while their three pets are perpetually underfoot.
